About 6 months ago it got snagged and a hole appeared. I said I would repair it as it was near an edge and would not be much trouble to undo and re knit. But could I find the wool. No.

Anyway we were clearing the garage in preparation for the new chest freezer we had bought and I found the wool I was after plus some other wool. So now I can repair the shawl. Now where did I put the shawl for safe keeping....

Using up some of my stash of DK in pastel colours. It is a plain knit with a fringe. Will decide if I want the fringe when I see how much wool I have left. I hope to finish this in the next 10 days.

This time it is for a friends son. They have given us so many baby cloths I decided as a thankyou to knit a jumper for their 18 month old son. I know its summer, but I am making it large for the winter. It is made from chunky wool so the back was finished in one evening.

I try to do a bit every night. It is a shoulder wrap in a chunky blue mahair style wool. The pattern is from a Women Weekly knitting special from about 2 years ago. It knits up really quickly as you use big needles. OO I think. You don't really need to do a swatch for this as you can just knit until it is the right lenght for you.

I'll hopefully put a picture up when it is finished.

I knitted it in black pure wool from Shetland Isles wool company.

It was the first lace garment I had ever knitted and was very impressed. Finding something to block it on was a problem but we had some spare steryfoam that was big enough to block all in one go.

The pattern was from a book of lace patterns I bought and is listed in my books section at

I puposely made it in a bigger size and sure enough he will have to grow before he will fit into it.

The pattern was from a Womens weekly special from about 2 years ago. Very easy to knit as mostly stocking stitch.
